Here are the key limitations Claude has

🧠 Knowledge & Memory

• My knowledge cutoff is August 2025 — I don’t know events after that unless I search the web
• I have no memory between conversations — each chat starts fresh
• I can’t remember your preferences unless you set them in User Preferences in settings

🎨 Content Creation

• Cannot generate images, audio, or video
• Cannot generate music or speech
• Won’t reproduce copyrighted content like song lyrics, poems, book passages

🌐 Real-time & Live Data

• Cannot access live data like stock prices, sports scores, or breaking news without web search
• Cannot access private/paywalled websites or content behind logins
• Web search must be enabled in settings to browse the internet

💻 Technical

• Cannot run code on your local machine (only in my sandbox environment)
• Cannot send emails, make calls, or take actions on external apps unless connected via integrations
• Cannot access your files or desktop unless you upload them

🔒 Safety & Ethics

• Won’t help with harmful, illegal, or dangerous content
• Won’t write malware or exploits
• Won’t create sexual content involving minors
• Avoids definitive political opinions to stay neutral

📄 File & Context Limits

• There is a context window limit — very long conversations may cause me to lose track of earlier content
• Large files may be truncated if they exceed limits

🤝 Human Interaction

• I can make mistakes — I’m not 100% accurate, especially on niche or very recent topics
• I cannot verify your identity or access personal accounts
• I’m not a substitute for doctors, lawyers, or financial advisors
